Park Hyatt Paris Vendome –

Paris - Tour EiffelRecently I traveled to Paris for a long weekend.

During the trip I had the opportunity to redeem Hyatt points to stay at the Park Hyatt Vendome.

Some people have told me that it is the nicest of the Park Hyatt properties so I was excited to get to check it out. The average nightly rate was 1,200 Euro, so this was an excellent redemption of 35,000 Hyatt Points per-night.

I have mid-tier status with Hyatt so I was not expecting any special treatment at the hotel.

I arrived in the early afternoon via Uberx. The doorman opened the door and immediately unloaded my luggage. The doorman asked for my name and he used it. The doorman escorted my guest and me to the registration area. There were three agents at the desk and we were greeted promptly.

The doorman introduced us and the desk agent welcomed us to the Park Hyatt. The doorman thanked us and wished us a good stay.

The agent located my reservation and she processed the check in quickly. The agent said that the room was ready and she issued the key and walked around the desk and handed it to me and directed us to the elevator.

My guest and I walked to the elevator and went up one floor to our room.

When we opened the door, we found a nicely decorated clean room accented in gold.

A bellman/butler arrived within a few minutes with our luggage.

Bed

The room was a basic one on the first floor. The bed was a queen size but the linens were clean and the bed was very soft.

The room was decorated with wood and gold tones.

The room featured a small sitting area and a TV with a great variety of international channels in a variety of language.

An espresso machine was present in the room using pod technology along with a minibar. I heard that the Park Hyatt has gourmet local items within the minibar; however, in this one all the options appeared to be standard minibar options and not worth the cost. The room featured red, white and champagne glasses which was a nice touch.

The bathroom was large and it had a tub and a shower. Again accented in gold.

The bath amenities were upscale and they were from a local French brand.

BathroomThe room was quiet and comfortable and we enjoyed the stay.

The closet was open and featured a curtain to close it which was unique.

Room

I enjoyed my stay at the Park Hyatt. I felt that the experience was good overall. I think that it makes more sense staying at a Park Hyatt if you are a Hyatt Diamond as I’ve heard the breakfast experience is exceptional at this property.

The hotel was located near the Paris Opera so it is in a great location for exploring. I did a lot of walking around and found plenty of luxury shopping locations as well as some more local places.

The check out experience was efficient. The desk agent charged me about 15 Euro in taxes for the two night stay.

I would return in the future as this is one of those times when the redemption gives you a tremendous value based on the average nightly rate.

Has anyone else stayed at this property?
